La Mentuccia - Bed and Breakfast

The Bed & Breakfast

"La Mentuccia" has been recently refurbished in order to best welcome our visitors. Wooden windows and doors give to the house an authentic look, keeping the simplicity of original farmer houses.

A small and cozy kitchen can be used to store and cook your own food. A living room in dark wood, and a fireplace in stone, is the common room where you can spend a nice evening.

The cozy double bedroom is just perfect for an economic and romantic stay. The private toilet (in the external corridor) is reserved for the room occupiers, and it has shower and clean towels.

The large beedroom can host up to 4 people, with 2 single beds and 1 bunk beds, an internal private toilet (with shower) and a small balcony overlooking the courtyard.

The farmhouse

"La Mentuccia" is part of an old farmhouse built in the 1788, made by a local landlord for his large family and servants. The farmhouse is located on top of a plateau and surrounded by wonderful vineyards. The lower level of the farmhouse was used to store the huge wine barrels from the surrounding estates. Even today the farmers produce wine from the same vineyards and keep it in the same wineries. October is the perfect period if you want to see the harvest.

Cantalice

The bed & breakfast is part of Cantalice, a small village on the slopes of the Terminillo mountain at 800 meters of altitude. Cantalice is famous for his position, on top of a rocky mountain, overlooking the green plain of Rieti and the two lakes which are part of its territory. From the church and from the tower it is possible to see the two lakes shining at sunset. This village was the birthplace of the famous saint "San Felice" and it hosted "San Francesco" during his wandering.
